Family Preservation Outreach
Despite hard work, in many cases, a family’s income falls significantly short of meeting their basic needs and shows little signs of improvement. The family’s children are then at higher risk of becoming malnourished and sick due to lack of nutrition and proper medical care. For instance, families facing deep poverty might resort to decisions like sending their daughters to work in someone’s house, exposing them to the risks of trafficking and abuse.
Netsanet’s aim is to proactively intervene to prevent families from making choices that could jeopardize the well-being of their children. In anticipation of such challenges, one program we offer provides tuition for the children’s education and their school supplies, thus minimizing this possibility.
Netsanet provides these services for over 500 impoverished children each year. Additionally, necessary items such as food, blankets, clothing, medicine, and soap are given as needed.
With this program, our primary goal is to maintain the family unit. Netsanet believes this is the best approach for protecting the children.
